Everyday Use of Memory

I am so proud of myself for being able to apply these memory techniques to everyday use. For example...I have to grab somethings from my ex's and was making a list in my head. However, instead of placing them throughout a memory palace, I fit them into a single scene. The items are shampoo, conditioner, tacks, mirror, and light. In my scene that I formed the shampoo and conditioner are sward fighting with the tacks in front of the mirror with a light shining down on them. And just like that I have those 5 items memorized.

I am so excited that "I can do this" in just 3 weeks. Where will I be at by the end of the semester? I am still working on how to memorize numbers more easily. I would like to memorize dates of famous historical events such as wars, movements, etc...

My Memory Palace for the 9 Muses

The memory palace that I am using for the 9 muses is my current home.

When walking up to the house I see Colliope sitting in my papasan chair outside writing Epic Poetry. When I walk in the house I see Clio watching the History channel and Urania drawing stars and constellations on the wall and ceiling. In the bedroom, Erato is laying on the bed in lingerie. Past the bedroom is the bathroom where Euterpe is singing in the shower and Terpsichore is dancing while she is getting ready for the day. On the other end of the house Thalia and Melpomena are in the office reading Shakespeare. Out the back door is Polyhymnia writing her hymns.  

First Week of Class

In just one week of class, my perception of the world has been heightened and my motivation has been intrigued. I am so excited to have a class that will give me tools to use in everyday activities. Not only can Professor Sexson show us the tools to a great memory, but he can also show us that these tools actually work. I was so impressed on the first day of class when Professor Sexson remembered my name after 4 years.

I am half way through our first book Moonwalking with Einstein. I am ecstatic to finally have a 'good' book that is also an easy read. I will most likely lend this book to friends who could benefit from it.

I am excited for class and to get to know everyone in it.
